Deaths from AstraZeneca in Australia.
In the last week, (22 July 2021), two more people have died with confirmed TTS following their first dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine.
One was a 44-year-old man from Tasmania and the other was a 48-year-old woman from Victoria.
The TGA has received and reviewed 399 reports of deaths in people who have recently been vaccinated and found six that were linked to immunisation. The other 393 would be non-vaccine related deaths from other causes.
These six deaths were all related to the first dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine – five were TTS cases and one was a case of immune thrombocytopenia (ITP).
This is from from 6.1 million doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine that has been administered to date.

This overall death rate is about 1 death per million AstraZeneca vaccinations.
If 25 million people in Australia were fully vaccinated with AstraZeneca, we could expect about 40 deaths relating to the vaccine.
Australia has so far lost 918 people to deaths from COVID-19.
Eight of these COVID-19 deaths have occurred between 10th July and 24th July 2021.
