Australian Travel Exemption Ban Statistics to March 2021.
Inward Travel Ban Statistics.
Between 13 September 2020 and 24 March 2021, there were 139,368 individuals who sought a travel exemption to come to Australia.
23,068 inward travel ban exemptions were approved during that period.
Those figures show that one in every six applicants were granted an exemption to enter Australia.
In practice however, many of these applicants made multiple requests. I have read that at least one such applicant made 15 requests before getting a grant.
An inward travel exemption is NOT required for some visa holders, including those holding the subclass 100, 309, 801 and 820 partner visas.
Outward Travel Ban Statistics.

85,258 outward travel ban exemption requests were approved during that period.
Those figures show that about one in every two applicants were granted an exemption to leave Australia.
Only Australian Citizens, and Australian Permanent residents, need to apply for permission to leave Australia. This includes subclass 100 and 801 partner visas.
Temporary visa holders are permitted to leave with no restrictions. This includes subclass 309 and 820 partner visas.
