Pancake day in 2022 is on Tuesday, 1st March 2022.
It is on different dates each year, but it is always 47 days before Easter, sometime between 3rd February and 9th March.
What is Pancake Day?
Pancake day for most of us is just the day that we MUST eat pancakes, and these, at least in England, used to be commonly eaten with lemon and sugar.
It is actually a religious day, Shrove Tuesday, marking the last day before Lent. Butter and eggs were traditionally not eaten during Lent, so they would be used up in something like pancakes on that last Tuesday.
