Confused by JobSeeker or JobKeeper?  You are not alone…

This post is to show that many people, including news outlets, and myself, can easily get confused by these two terms: JobSeeker and JobKeeper.

Jobkeeper Payment Rate Reductions September 2020

Jobkeeper Rate Changes.

The jobseeker wage subsidy is set to remain at $1,500 per fortnight, but will then reduce to $1,200 a fortnight from the end of September until December.

It is then intended to reduce to $1,000 per fortnight until March 2021.

Australian Unemployment April 2020

In April 2020, the Australian Unemployment rate has increased from 5.2% to 6.2%.

The number of people classed as Unemployed increased by 104,500 to 823,300.

This figure released 14th May 2020.

Government support packages were introduced to keep people in employment, even of not actually working.

Australian Government to Pay Most Australian wages

Australian Government to keep Australia Running During the Coronavirus.

The Australian Government will be paying $1,500 per fortnight towards to the wages for many Australian workers, from today, 30th March 2020.
