Can I Travel Overseas on a subclass 866 visa?
With the subclass 866 visa you can travel in and out of Australia, but you must not enter the country or countries from which you were granted protection.
You are permitted to travel in and out of Australia for 5 years from the date of the grant. After that period you would need to apply for a travel visa, an RRV, if you wish to leave and return back to Australia.
Immigration advice on this question states:
We recommend that you do not use the passport or travel document issued to you by your country of nationality. If you do so, we may consider that you no longer require Australia’s protection and we may cancel your visa.
