Aged Pension Income Limits.

To be eligible for the Australian full Age Pension your income must be below the current thresholds.

The Income Limit Thresholds, for Australian Aged Pension, at July 2020 are:

  • A Single Person can earn $178 per fortnight, before losing 50 cents for each dollar of income above that threshold.
  • A Couple can earn $316 per fortnight, before losing 50 cents cents for each dollar of income above that threshold.

Example of this are:

  • A single person who has an income of $178 each fortnight, on top of the aged pension, will get the full pension they are entitled to.
  • A single person who has an income of $198 each fortnight, on top of the aged pension, ($20 above the threshold of $178) will have their pension payment reduced by half of the difference between $198 and $178, ie: receiving $10 less than normal.
  • A single person who has an income of $278 each fortnight, on top of the aged pension, ($100 above the threshold of $178) will have their pension payment reduced by half of the difference between $278 and $178, ie: receiving $50 less than normal.
