The Australian Government provides various reports on Australia’s Refugee and Humanitarian Program, containing statistical data on protection and resettlement to refugees and others in humanitarian need from all parts of the world.

912 Protection Visa lodgements were made in the month.

Top three countries of origin:

  • 218 Malaysia.
  • 154 China (exc Sar).
  • 57 Vietnam.

  • 1,351 refugee status determinations made during the period.
  • 108 individuals granted a Final Protection Visa during the period.
  • 1,243 individuals that were not granted a Final Protection Visa during the period.

Outstanding Applications:

  • 30,174 refugee status determinations awaiting a decision at the end of the period.
  • 62,422 individuals that were not granted a Final Protection Visa that have yet to be deported at the end of the period.
