In 2019-20 there were 37,118 Australian permanent partner visas granted to applicants.

The number in 2019-20 is only slightly lower than the 39,918 in 2018-19.
The travel ban into Australia imposed in early 2020, due to COVID-19, would not have had much of an effect on these visa grants, as the majority of these applicants would have already been onshore, as holders of the 309 or 820 temporary partner visas.
