Average Australian Full Time Wage Increase May 2023.
According to new seasonally adjusted figures released today by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS), the average weekly ordinary time earnings for full-time adults was $1,838 in May 2023.
This is a 3.8% increase over the last 12 months.
It varied by state between:
$1,619 in Tasmania, and
$2,039 in Western Australia.
The public sector was $1,999 per week.
The private sector was $1,797 per week.
Different occupation types varied between:
- $1,347 in the accommodation and food services.
- $2,854 in the Mining industry.
