Cap on Parent Visas 2020/21

A cap on the number of Contributory Parent visas for the year 2020/21 has been announced.

The cap affects contributory parent visas, parent visas and other family visas.

A maximum of 3,600 Contributory Parent visas may be granted in the financial year from 1 July 2020 to 30 June 2021.

In 2019/20 it was 6,096.
In 2018/19 it was 7,175.

The 2021/22 numbers are expected to be announced in the 2021 Budget on Tuesday 11th May 2021.

The visas affected are any one of the following classes:
(a) Contributory Parent (Migrant) (Class CA) visa;
(b) Contributory Aged Parent (Residence) (Class DG) visa;
(c) Contributory Parent (Temporary) (Class UT) visa;
(d) Contributory Aged Parent (Temporary) (Class UU) visa.
A maximum of 3,600 Contributory Parent visas might be granted.

Other Family visa means a visa in one of the following classes:
(a) Other Family (Migrant) (Class BO) visa;
(b) Other Family (Residence) (Class BU) visas.
A maximum of 500 Other Family visas might be granted.

Parent visa means a visa in one of the following classes:
(a) Parent (Migrant) (Class AX) visa;
(b) Aged Parent (Residence) (Class BP) visa.
A maximum of 900 Parent visas might be granted.
