Do you know if you have COVID?
Health officials are being asked: “If I am well, how can I possibly infect someone else?”
This is from people who have no symptoms, but are testing positive to COVID-19.
New South Wales Chief Health Officer Kerry Chant said.
“You don’t know that you have the disease and actually, with the Delta variant, you are most likely to spread it to others even just before or around the time before you have symptoms.”
It is important to understand that a person that has had two doses of a COVID vaccine can still become infected with COVID, but will probably not get any symptoms. They can still transfer the virus to others.
I had a conversation with someone the other day. He said he would not wear a mask as he has been vaccinated and was not afraid.
What he didn’t realise, was that he could still catch COVID and transmit it to others by breathing near them.
The vaccine reduces the recipients risk of having serious issues or death. It does not mean that a vaccinated person will not get COVID.
