Australian Inflation Rate.

Anthony Albanese is blaming Scott Morrison for “plummeting” wages following the latest release of the wage price index, showing an annual wage increase of 2.4% to the March quarter.
The current rate of inflation is 5.1%.

Other countries with similar issues are blaming issues arising from the pandemic and the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Scott Morrison has also blamed international pressures such as the war in Ukraine and supply chain disruption for Australia’s cost of living crisis.

The UK Consumer Prices Index (CPI) rose by 9.0% in the 12 months to April 2022.

The UK Consumer Prices Index, including owner occupiers’ housing costs, rose by 7.8% in the 12 months to April 2022. This is the highest recorded 12-month inflation rate in the National Statistics series, which began in January 2006.

US Inflation

The annual inflation rate for the United States is 8.3% for the 12 months ended April 2022, according to U.S. Labor Department data.

For the year ended April 2022, the Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers increased 8.3 percent. Over that period, prices for food at home increased 10.8 percent, the largest 12-month percentage increase since the period ending November 1980.
