“I’ve just received this text message. Please advise if this is a scam. Urgent. Thank you.”
The above is a common reaction by some people who receive an email or text message regarding their bank account, or similar.
They often ask the question on public media, hoping for an answer.
My advice would be to ring the bank direct, using their phone number on the back of your bank cards.
Never use a contact method in an email or text message, especially if you think it might, however remotely, be a scam.
Asking on a public forum allows any scammer (or idiots messing around) on that public media, the chance to say “Yes, it is perfectly safe.”
The ACTUAL answer to the original question was: It is a Scam!!
