69 people attended an engagement party in Melbourne, during the lockdown and in breach of COVID-19 restrictions.
It is reported that two of them have tested positive for COVID-19.
This has the possibility of becoming a superspreader event, which could follow the situation in New South Wales.
NSW has had 56 Covid related deaths since early July, when their recent outbreak began.
Reports of death threats have been received by some involved in this event, following the publication of the party.
This resulted in one party attendee saying: “We did wrong but the hate coming our way is just so mean! So far we’re all isolating and have received negative results”.
That is contradictory to the government report of two positive cases.
I wonder how they will feel if this does follow what happened in NSW, and more Covid-19 deaths occur in Victoria.
