Pfizer vaccine and Myocarditis.
US studies have found 27 people who have developed myocarditis of the heart muscle within days of having the Pfizer and Moderna mRNA vaccines.
The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has found myocarditis and pericarditis in adolescents and young adults is likely linked to the mRNA vaccine.
US Federal officials have confirmed 323 cases of heart inflammation in people ages 12 through 29 who’ve received either the Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna COVID-19 vaccine, at rates slightly higher than in those who did not receive vaccine. 309 had been hospitalised and 295 discharged at 11 June 2021.
4 cases of myocarditis and 15 cases of pericarditis have been reported to the TGA since the start of the vaccine rollout in Australia.
It was more likely to occur in males and was more common after the second dose of vaccine. The majority of cases occurred within a week of vaccination.
