RBA Interest Rates March 2023.

The RBA announced that the Australian Cash Rate would change to 3.60% on 7 March 2023.  The new rate comes into effect the day after.

This increase of 0.25% was expected by most experts.

At its meeting today, the Board decided to increase the cash rate target by 25 basis points to 3.60 per cent.

It also increased the interest rate on Exchange Settlement balances by 25 basis points to 3.50 per cent.


Will this rate increase again up to the 4.75% that it was in November 2010?

During the 10 year period 2000 to 2009, the rate varied between 3.00% and 7.25%.  This shows what a normal cash rate might be.  Rates below 3% have been abnormally low.
