Does a 309 visa have an expiry date?
A subclass 309 visa is the first stage of the 309/100 partner visa applied from overseas.
It is valid until the grant of the 2nd stage, the subclass 100 visa.
Does a 309 visa have an expiry date? It appears that it does not, at least not until the subclass 100 decision is made.
The Immigration Department states its validity period as:
Temporarily, until we decide your permanent Partner (Migrant) visa (subclass 100) application or the application is withdrawn.
The wording on the relevant page is:
How long you can stay..
You can stay until we make a decision about your permanent Partner visa (subclass 100) or you withdraw that application.
