173 Contributory Parent visa

Contributory Parent (Temporary) visa (subclass 173).

The Subclass 173 Contributory Parent Visa lets parents of a settled Australian citizen, permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen live in Australia temporarily.

To be eligible for the Contributory Parent Visa (subclass 173) you must have a child who is an Australian citizen, a permanent resident or an eligible New Zealand citizen.

Also, at least half of your children must live in Australia, or more of your children live in Australia than any other country.

As at January 2018, the processing time is up to around 3 years.

As at January 2018 the cost of the Subclass 173 Contributory Parent Visa is around $32,000

Applicants must meet health and character requirements.
Sponsors must be able to obtain an Assurance of Support.
