Ankara, Turkey Median Processing Times for 309 visa.
In the 10 months from July 2019 to April 2020, the processing times for the subclass 309 visa, applied from Ankara, were:
- 25% took under 112 days
- 25% took between 112 and 171 days
- 25% took between 171 and 304 days
- 15% took between 304 days and 447 days
- 5% took between 447 and 536 days
- 5% took over 536 days.
The median time was 171 days, for subclass 309s from Ankara, in 2019/20 (to April 2020), from the 187 applications finalised.
Previous years were:
- 305 days for subclass 309 in 2017/18, from the 305 applications finalised.
- 273 days for subclass 309 in 2018/19, from the 241 applications finalised.
The number of subclass 309 Visas granted to applicants with Turkish Citizenship were:
- 171 in 2015-16 (14 per month)
- 133 in 2016-17 (11 per month)
- 132 in 2017-18 (11 per month)
- 239 in 2018-19 (20 per month)
- 152 in 2019-20 (15 per month to April 2020)
Fewer visas were issued after March 2020, and using figures after that date would cause statistical anomalies. This would be due to some (or many) of those granted between April and June might have been faster than normal, as they were giving priority to certain partner applications, presumably based on things like the relationship time etc.
Figures for all the 309s granted from ‘all’ countries show:
- An average of 1,256 per month were finalised between January and March 2020.
- An average of only 200 per month were finalised between April and June 2020.
