The following processing times relate to Citizenship applications, by conferral, that reached a decision in Aug 2022.

From Date of application to decision.

  • 25% took under 7 months.
  • 25% between 7 months and 11 months.
  • 25% between 11 months and 14 months.
  • 15% between 14 months and 17 months.
  • 10% took over 17 months.

From Date of approval to ceremony.

  • 25% took under 3 months.
  • 25% between 3 months and 5 months.
  • 25% between 5 months and 9 months.
  • 15% between 9 months and 12 months.
  • 10% took over 12 months.

From Date of application to ceremony.

  • 25% took under 11 months.
  • 25% between 11 months and 14 months.
  • 25% between 14 months and 17 months.
  • 15% between 17 months and 21 months.
  • 10% took over 21 months.

These times do NOT include those applications that are still in progress, and some of those might take longer than the longest times shown above.

    • 13,020 citizenship by conferral applications were received during the month of Aug 2022.
    • There were 115,737 citizenship by conferral applications on hand at the end of Aug 2022.
    • That is 4,460 less than the 120,197 citizenship by conferral applications on hand at the end of July 2022.
    • Those figures indicate that 17,480 applications were finalised in Aug 2022.
