The Australian government has announced a 1.7% increase in the minimum wage from July 2020.
The Australian minimum hourly rate will increase to $19.84 per hour, to begin between July 2020 and February 2021.
This works out at a new minimum wage of $753.80 for a standard week, or $39,197 per year.
Group 1
The new minimum wages will start from the first full pay period starting on or after 1 July 2020.
Group 2
The new minimum wages will start from the first full pay period starting on or after 1 November 2020.
Group 3
The new minimum wages will start from the first full pay period starting on or after 1 February 2021.

The previous Minimum rate was $19.49 per hour, or $740.80 per week.
