Bridging Visa A (BVA)

What is the Bridging Visa A (BVA)?.

The Bridging visa A (BVA) is a temporary visa that allows you to stay in Australia while another visa is being processed, so that you remain a legal visa holder after your existing visa ends.

It is normally granted automatically when you lodge an application in Australia for another visa, while your current visa is still active. It may not come into effect though, until your current visa ends.  You must continue to comply with any conditions that are on that previous visa, until that Visa comes to an end and the BVA comes into effect.

A BVA does not allow you to return to Australia if you leave.
