Business and Skilled Migration Program Queensland Closed

Is the Business and Skilled Migration Program Queensland now closed?.

Business and Skilled Migration Queensland (BSMQ) is the state nominating body for the Queensland Government, and a business unit of Trade and Investment Queensland (TIQ).

In partnership with the Department of Home Affairs, BSMQ nominates successful skilled and businesses applicants under and specifies the number of visas that will be granted as part of this program.

Note the difference between the BSMQ skilled program and BSMQ Business program, when reading the following:

Due to the unprecedented demand of the skilled program the BSMQ skilled program is temporarily CLOSED.

Expressions of interest (EOI’s) submitted for SkillSelect after 5.00pm AEST 30 July 2019 will not be considered at this time.

EOIs submitted from 29–30 July 2019 (5.00pm AEST) will be accepted and considered over the coming months.

Due to this demand, it is unlikely that the subclass 489 program will reopen (for skilled applicants) due to the closure for nominations on 10 September 2019 (to be replaced by the new subclass 491 Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) visa).

The subclass 190 program will reopen in due course, and BSMQ will publish the re-opening date via www.migration.qld.gov.au and on social media channels.

The BSMQ Business program remains OPEN.
