Flight Centre CEO Graham Turner is spearheading a campaign to fully open the QLD-NSW Border.
Mr Turner said there was no reason to keep the border shut, because outbreaks in Queensland and New South Wales were being managed well.
Only a few people have managed to get through the border, without quarantine, from New South Wales, and caused the recent increase in cases in Queensland, with the resulting increase for restrictions for Queensland residents.
Queensland has gone from just 2 cases per week in June, up to 13 cases per week in September. A 450% increase?
Makes one think of what happened in Victoria…
Some people, with a vested interest in travel, seem to think that an increase in COVID cases, in Queensland, is worth it, so that people can travel and mix again, and of course, to enable their travel businesses to resume.
