Coming to Australia during COVID-19 Restrictions February 2021

In February 2021 there were about 25,800 arrival trips into Australia. 11,500 of these were Australian citizens returning home, and 14,320 being foreign citizens.

During the COVID-19 restrictions there are caps on the numbers of passengers coming into Australian airports from overseas. This is to ease pressure on state and territory quarantine facilities.

These measures are temporary and will be reviewed regularly.

The Government will aim to provide airlines with at least 48 hours’ notice to minimise disruptions.

It’s up to the airlines, not the Government, to decide who it sells tickets to.

For information on available flights to Australia, contact individual airlines or your travel agent.

Commercial flights continue to be available in most destinations and are the best option for returning Australia.
