The median value of Australian dwellings, as at 30 April 2021, was $624,997. This is a rise of 7.8% over the year.

The median for all Capital Cities was $705,375, a rise of 6.4% over the year.

The median for all Regional areas was $457,938, a rise of 13.0% over the year.

House Price Changes since the Pandemic began:

The property price changes caused by the COVID-19 pandemic were felt worse in Melbourne, where prices rose by about 3% from January 2020 to April 2020, but then dropped by about 5.5% by November 2020, before finally rising again to about 5% higher than in January 2020.

With an index set at 100 at 1 Jan 2020, the RESI price index shows the following rises over the 16 months to 6 May 2021.
