Explore four centuries of Scottish baptisms, marriages and burials with our new release.
This week at Findmypast we’ve published 10.7 million new records to create the most comprehensive collection of Scottish family history records available online. Dating back to 1561, these new records span 450 years of Scottish history and cover every parish in the country.
Combined with our existing collection of Scottish records and historical newspaper’s, this release establishes Findmypast as the home of the largest collection of Scottish family history records available anywhere online, allowing our users to explore their Scottish family tree in greater depth than ever before.
This vast new online resource is a result of Findmypast’s collaboration with local family history societies, archives and volunteers from across the country. With their support, we have brought together a variety of key historical records, many of which were previously inaccessible to the public and are now fully searchable in new ways for the first time. This will allow family historians across the world to uncover rare details of their ancestor’s lives and the stories behind major life events.
We’re very excited about this release, as it marks another step in our Scotland expansion. Since 2019, over 200 million new records from across the country have been added to the ever-expanding Scottish database, making Findmypast one of the best places online to research your Scottish family tree.
