Special Category Visa subclass 444

Australian Special Category Visa, subclass 444, for New Zealand Citizens.

A Special Category Visa (subclass 444) is an Australian visa granted to most New Zealand citizens on arrival in Australia. It does not need to be applied for in advance, but must be issued before the New Zealand citizen passes Australian Immigration. If the 444 visa is refused, the passenger will not be granted entry, and will be returned on the next available flight.

Reasons for refusal include security, character and health requirements.

This visa lets New Zealand citizens, who hold a current New Zealand passport and meet health and character requirements, visit, study, live and work in Australia.

The visa expires on exit from Australia, and costs nothing.
