Subclass 888 Significant Investor Visa.
The Australian Labor (ALP) government has paused applications for the significant investor visa, subclass 888
Business Innovation and Investment (Permanent) visa (subclass 888) – Significant Investor stream.
This visa fast-tracks permanent residency for migrants who invest $5 million in Australia, and known as a “Golden ticket” visa.
There was no language requirement, or age limit, for this visa.
It appears to have been used by criminals and corrupt foreign officials.
Home Affairs Minister Clare O’Neil stated that this visa was part of a “broken” system that the government has inherited.
It was introduced by the Labor (ALP) government in 2012.
