Conditions NOT considered to be a contraindication for COVID-19 vaccination and NOT accepted for the purpose of a medical exemption to vaccination for travel to Australia:
- Chronic symptoms following COVID-19 (“Long COVID”).
- Pregnancy
- Previous infection with COVID-19 (confirmed SARS-CoV-2 infection).

Past SARS-CoV-2 infection.
ATAGI notes that natural immunity from past infection is recognised as fully-vaccinated in several European countries.
However, past infection with SARS-CoV-2 is not a contraindication to vaccination for entry to Australia.
ATAGI will continue to review and consider the evidence base regarding natural immunity following recovery
from COVID-19 noting these recommendations are based on immunological principals due to a lack of data.
