Fully vaccinated tourists can come to Australia from 21 February 2022.
The Australian government has announced that fully vaccinated tourists can enter Australia, without an exemption or quarantine, from 21 February 2022.
Tourist visa holders that are not full vaccinated will still need to have an approved exemption from immigration.
They will also be subject any quarantine requirements imposed by the state or territory of arrival.
Scott Morrison, the Prime Minister, stated: “The condition is you must be double vaccinated to come to Australia. That’s the rule. Everyone is expected to abide by it.”
The numbers of unvaccinated arrivals, that are subject to quarantine, will be restricted based on the quarantine facilities available at the relevant time.
The Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) has recognised the following vaccines for the purpose of travel to Australia:
- Comirnaty by Pfizer,
- Vaxzevria by AstraZeneca,
- Moderna,
- Novavax,
- Janssen by Johnson and Johnson,
- Coronavac by Sinovac,
- Covishield by AstraZeneca,
- Covaxin by Bharat Biotech,
- Sputnik V by Gamaleya and
- BBIBP-CorV vaccine by Sinopharm (but only for those under 60 years old.)
