In 2020, the most common age group for a mother to have her first child was 30 to 39, with 486 in every 1,000 mothers being in that age group. This is up from just 117 in 1961.

In 1961, the most common age group for a mother to have her first child was 20 to 29, with 705 in every 1,000 mothers being in that age group. This dropped to 439 in 2020.
