The following processing times relate to Citizenship applications, by conferral, that reached a decision in June 2024.

From date of application to ceremony:
- 24% took under 5 months.
- 25% took between 5 and 6 months.
- 25% took between 6 and 7 months.
- 15% took between 7 and 10 months.
- 11% took over 10 months.
There were 117,789 Australian citizenship by conferral applications on hand at 30 June 2024, compared to the 79,548 at the end of June 2023.
That shows an increase, in the applications still in progress after 12 months, of 38,241 applications.
A 48% increase in one year.
There were 16,978 Australian citizenship by conferral applications received in June 2024. This is similar to the 16,446 applications in June 2023.

- 25% took under 3 months.
- 25% between 3 months and 4 months.
- 25% between 4 months and 6 months.
- 15% between 6 months and 10 months.
- 10% took over 10 months.
From Date of approval to ceremony.
- 25% took under 73 days.
- 25% between 73 days and 4 months.
- 25% between 4 months and 5 months.
- 15% between 5 months and 7 months.
- 10% took over 7 months.
From Date of application to ceremony.
- 25% took under 8 months.
- 25% between 8 months and 11 months.
- 25% between 11 months and 13 months.
- 15% between 13 months and 16 months.
- 10% took over 16 months.
These times do NOT include those applications that are still in progress, and some of those might take longer than the longest times shown above.
