Petrol prices in Australia vary a LOT, and most Australian drivers will have seen that.
I filled up yesterday at $1.477 per litre. There was a choice of 3 petrol stations, two were almost opposite each other; at $1.477 and 1.579 per litre, and the next one was $1.619. I chose the $1.477 price.
In another area, about 30 minutes away, the choices varied between $1.679 and $1.819. These two petrol stations were about 900 metres apart. One was BP, one was 7-Eleven.
A bit further away was another 7-Eleven charging $1.693, and that was about 2.7 kms away from the 7-Eleven charging $1.819.
You can’t go by brand to know which is cheapest. But I have noticed Mobil often comes up well, but not always.
