Applications for Australian citizenship have not stopped being accepted during the COVID-19 epidemic, but testing and ceremonies were stopped.
Online Ceremonies were introduced and many people, who had been tested beforehand, were able to complete their Citizenship journey.
However, sitting the tests was still not an option, at least for most applicants in Australia.
This changed on the 6th July 2020 for applicants in Western Australia when they recommenced in-person citizenship interviews and citizenship tests.
Eligible individuals, in Western Australia, are being contacted and invited to attend a citizenship interview or test. There is no need to contact the Department about your citizenship interview or test.
The department of Home Affairs has said that they will gradually restart interviews and citizenship tests in other states and territories when it is safe to do so.
