NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian says: “I received a letter from Ms Palaszczuk about 7pm on Monday suggesting the border be moved (for COVID only) into NSW to ease bottlenecks in Coolangatta and Tweed.”
“I wrote back yesterday suggesting that we either maintain the status quo, I am happy to move the border north, but I will certainly not subject NSW residents to further restrictions”.
“The Queensland Border is a decision for the Queensland government, so it is for them to manage. Suffice to say I did not support her suggestion that was put to me.”

She said in July “I will certainly not subject NSW residents to further restrictions

But in September, the people of those areas are the ones facing those restrictions.
