Melbourne has been in lockdown for a week. Why haven’t we started to see a decline in cases?

I was reading some news headlines, and saw this one. “Melbourne has been in lockdown for a week. Why haven’t we started to see a decline in cases?”

I must admit that I didn’t read the story, as I felt that the 14 day quarantine explains it.

Not all cases are reported on day one, which is why people are quarantined for 14 days, as cases can be revealed during that time.

In my opinion, one week is not sufficient to show a drop.
