Self Employed Work on 457 visa

Working Self Employed on a 457 visa?.

Most Temporary Working visas, such as the 457 visa, that are allocated to people being sponsored by a specific employer will have the condition 8107 imposed.

Some of the conditions on this are that the visa holder must:

    • continue to be employed by that employer;
    • not work for any other employer;
    • not be self-employed; and
    • not undertake any work that is inconsistent with the purpose of the visa.

Not abiding by visa conditions can cause a visa to be cancelled
