Top 20 Countries share of CO2 Emissions

Australia was ranked number 16 in the chart below showing the carbon emissions from each of the highest 20 polluting countries.

The world emits about 43 billion tons of CO2 a year (2019).

Global energy-related CO2 emissions flattened in 2019 at around 33 gigatonnes (Gt), following two years of increases.
