Large Fire Burning at the Spit, Gold Coast, Queensland.
With temperatures at about 31C on the Gold Coast, a fire began at the Spit, on Queenslands Gold Coast, at about 10am today; 21st November 2015.
Evacuations of the area are under way, and fire crews including the yellow rural crews are moving to the area. Even at 11:30 am the rural fire crews are racing through Southport on the way to the fire. Including one from the Bonogin Valley.
Heavy smoke was very close to the SeaWorld complex, which would have had thousands of visitors concerned.
