Woolworths paper bags ‘Made in China’ controversy.
Woolworths are now providing paper bags as an option to plastic, however, this has caused controversy, with the ‘Made in China’ mark, on SOME of these bags.
Woolworths have stated that some are made in China and some in Vietnam, as getting them made in Australia, at the right price, is probably impossible.
Some comments on Social Media have mentioned suprise when seeing the “Made in Vietnam” mark, with at least one saying: “Weren’t the paper bags made in China?”
Many things that we buy are made in different countries, often based on the best deal that the buyers can strike.

I wonder if these paper bags are also made in other countries where the labour cost is much lower than in Australia?
