Working Limit on Student Visa.
From 1 July 2023, most student visa holders, and their dependents will be permitted to work for up to 48 hours per fortnight.
Those students and their dependents that are enrolled in a Master or Doctorate degree, are able to work unlimited hours.
Before 1 July 2023, international students can work before their course commences and work more than 40 hours a fortnight in any sector of the economy. This was a temporary measure due to Covid, but will end on 30 June 2023.
Students must ensure they are aware of any changes to their visa conditions, including work rights.
