Prominent climate change denier Lord Christopher Monckton, is stirring up trouble again.
Lord Monckton is attending a conference in Perth, and will be be speaking on Day three. This conference is being opened by Tony Abbott.
Due to this event, the ALP are attacking Tony Abbott for his link with Lord Monckton, this link being that both of them are in the same building at some stage.
If Tony Abbott was forced to pull out of an event because a perceived ‘madman’ was also attending, then all political party leaders should never be allowed to attend ANY events.
We do have a certain amount of freedom of speech in this country. Long may it continue, without our leaders, and opposition leaders, being forced not to hear the comments of those that the other side doesn’t like.
Who is Lord Monckton ?
Lord Christopher Monckton is the 3rd Viscount Monckton of Brenchley, the eccentric UK climate sceptic who claims that humans are not damaging the climate.
The Opposition Leader said he had no plans to meet Christopher Monckton during his visit, but said he would still attend a Perth mining conference to be addressed by the controversial British aristocrat.
But Victorian backbencher Josh Frydenberg has declined to say whether Opposition Leader Tony Abbott and Liberal frontbencher Mathias Cormann should pull out of an upcoming mining industry conference to be attended by Christopher Monckton.
Lord Monckton will speak at the Association of Mining and Exploration Companies (AMEC) conference in Perth next week – an event that will be opened by Mr Abbott.
