What age do you retire in Australia?.
There is no compulsory Retirement age in Australia, but the following ages are normally recognised as common Retirement ages in Australia.
From 1 July 2017, the qualifying age was 65 years and 6 months.
From 1 July 2019, the qualifying age will increase to 66 years.
From 1 July 2021, the qualifying age will increase to 66 years and 6 months.
From 1 July 2023, the qualifying age will increase to 67 years.
These ages are subject to government changes, and proposals to change the age to 70 years have been muted in the past, and could be proposed agan in the future.
