Can I change a Visitor Visa to a Student Visa in Australia.
A visa cannot be changed, but anyone can make an application for a Student Visa, or any other Visa, but sometimes not while they are inside Australia, and there is no guarantee of it being granted.
If your visitor visa has the “No Further Stay” condition, then you cannot apply for any other visa while in Australia on that visa. You would need to leave Australia and then apply when you are back home.
If it hasn’t got that condition, then you can make an application for a student visa, if you satisfy the required conditions. It isn’t a change of visa, it is a new and separate application.
- A Student visa (subclass 500) allows you to stay in Australia to study full-time in a recognised education institution.
